In the Rif region of Morocco, home nursing care comprises several types of services designed to meet the needs of elderly, sick or disabled people.
These services are mainly provided by organisations such as Services de Soins Infirmiers à Domicile (SSIAD) and Hospitalisation à Domicile (HAD).
SSIADs provide hygiene and nursing care for people over 60 and people under 60 suffering from chronic illnesses or disabilities.
Staff include nurses and care assistants who provide care such as dressings, injections and the preparation of medical treatments.
These services help prevent hospitalisation and encourage people to stay at home.
HAH enables patients to receive complex medical care at home, after a traditional hospital stay.
This care is provided by a multidisciplinary team including nurses, care assistants and sometimes physiotherapists.
HAH is prescribed by a doctor and requires the agreement of the Health Insurance consultant.
It is intended for patients whose state of health requires coordinated care but does not necessitate a constant presence in hospital.
Ces services contribuent grandement à améliorer la qualité de vie des patients en leur offrant des soins adaptés dans le confort de leur domicile, tout en réduisant la nécessité de séjours prolongés à l’hôpital.
